6 children’s gift subscription ideas to check out!

childrens-1Happy {almost} Thanksgiving, Moving Moms! This week is all about traveling, gathering, eating and family. But we all know what comes right after all the food and fun…Friday… Black Friday. Some of us LOVE it (I’m looking at you, the one pouring over the ads and mapping out a store schedule based on opening times. Side note: we have a gift-guide for your people coming next Monday, stay tuned!) And some of us HATE it. Whether you are already having Christmas burnout, or you can’t stand to think that one more toy will enter your house, you are just over it. But never fear Christmas gift grinches! We have some fun gift alternative ideas for you to pass onto those grandmas and aunts. And these gifts include all kinds of interactive activities (arts and crafts, science, literature) that come straight to your door month-to-month! (We haven’t received compensation from any of these companies! We just found them and thought they seemed SO neat!)

Hooray Mail – Designed for kids ages 3 to 6 years old. Kids will receive a fun, personalized piece of mail twice each month that includes all kinds of different activities. Hooray Mail is available in 1, 3, 6 and 12-month subscriptions and starts at $13 per month (with discounts for multiple months!)

Pley – Pley provides new toys (which you select) each month, and then at the end of the month, package up the toys and send them back! No more clutter with tons of toys and new, interesting toys for all ages each month! Plans start at $12.99 per month. Check out our review of Pley here!

Kidstir – If you have kiddos that love to help out in the kitchen, this is a perfect gift for them. Kidstir delivers cooking kits to your door each month. Each month, you receive themed packages with recipes, supplies and a shopping list for all food items you need for the recipes. Recipe kits coincide with seasonal holidays and they are so cute! Kits start at $15.95 per month.

Green Kid Crafts – This subscription box looks like it is designed for the budding scientist. Each box comes with five to eight STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) projects that help children learn about a certain theme. Activities are geared toward ages 3 to 10 years old and cover topics such as oceanography and space. A one-month subscription starts at $19.95 and there are discounts for purchasing multiple months. They are having some Black Friday specials all week long!

Kiwi Crate – Kiwi Crate offers different kinds of kits geared toward different age groups from 3 to 16 years old (plus, they are in the process of creating crates for babies ages 4 to 36 months). Kits include anything from stories to science projects to engineering projects for older children. Kiwi Crate starts at $19.95 per month and you can receive discounted rates for purchasing multiple month packages.

Join the Story – I think we’re all always encouraging our children to read and if you need a little extra help, this subscription service is the perfect option! They state that each of their boxes are curated by a speech pathologist and includes two books for your child and one parent guide. You can also choose boxes focused on ages 0 to 2 years old or 2 and a half to 6 years old (or a box that combines books for both age groups if you have multiple children in your family.) Packages start at $14.99 and a portion of their proceeds go toward purchasing items for children with disabilities and low-income families.
